OVERVIEW AND QUALIFICATIONS
This course is to provide the diver with the information necessary to utilize EANx (Nitrox) as a breathing medium.
The course may be taught as a stand-alone specialty course to certified divers. The knowledge and skills training may alternatively be integrated into other NAUI certification courses including the NAUI Open Water Scuba Diver course.
Upon successful completion of this course or program, graduates are considered competent to utilize EANx (up to EAN40) in open water diving activities without direct supervision. This is provided the diving environment, activities, areas dived, and equipment approximate those of training.
Breakdown of what to expect:
- The course can be presented in one of three ways, depending on the student’s preference:
1. ± two classroom lectures
2. e-learning using the naui.org website.
3. Combination of e-learning and classroom lectures. - A minimum of two qualification dives are recommended, but not required.
- The student will be required to complete a formal exam, which can be:
1. Classroom – written exam.
2. Classroom – oral exam.
3. Online exam using the e-learning material.
Includes:
- NAUI activation code for the Nitrox Scuba Diver electronic learning material.
- Final Exam – Either online or Classroom
- Credential Card – (Electronic)
- Registration – On the NAUI core website and the NAUI mobile app
Excludes:
- Entrance to Bass Lake or Miracle Water
- Cost of nitrox unless diving with 0 Gravity Scuba Diving) (only when filled at and by 0 Gravity Scuba Diving)
What’s next?
Once you confirm your interest and payment is made, a “Meet & Greet “ meeting will be arranged where you will meet your instructor who will introduce you to nitrox scuba diving. Together you will set up the course calendar and activate your electronic course material.
