OVERVIEW AND QUALIFICATIONS

This course is a continued education certification course for certified divers. It is an enjoyable program with further supervised experiences designed to introduce divers to a variety of diving activities. It will be taught in an entirely open water setting. Upon successful completion of this course, graduates are considered competent to engage in open water diving activities without supervision This is provided that the diving environment, activities, areas dived, and equipment approximate those of training.

Breakdown of what to expect:

  • The course can be presented in one of three ways, depending on the student’s preference:
    1 ± five classroom lectures
    2. e-learning using the naui.org website.
    3. Combination of e-learning and classroom lectures.
  • ± two pool sessions at 0 Gravity to learn and master specific diving skills that are required to complete the course.
  • A minimum of six qualification dives, which can be divided into three required and three elective dives.
  • The student will be required to complete a formal exam.
  • The duration of the course, the dates of the pool sessions and the qualification weekend will be determined by the students during their first meeting. A course calendar will then be established.

Includes:

  • NAUI activation code for the Open Water Scuba Diver electronic learning material.
  • Pool Sessions – minimum 2 dives in confined water dives in the 0 Gravity pool.
  • Final Exam – Either online or Classroom
  • Air Fills – (while on the 0 Gravity premises)
  • Rental of equipment
  • Credential Card – (Plastic & Electronic)
  • Registration – On the NAUI core website and the NAUI mobile app

Excludes:

  • Entrance and accommodation for Bass Lake, Miracle Waters or Komati Springs
  • Cost of qualifying weekend at the coast.
  • Air Fills (while away from 0 Gravity)

What’s next?

Once you confirm your interest and payment is made, a “Meet & Greet” meeting, will be arranged, where you will meet your instructor who will introduce you to Advanced Scuba Diving. Together you will set up the course calendar and activate your electronic course material.
